dinner with the Herrera's

My mom and her husband were in town tonight, so I thought it would be nice to take them out for dinner. We walked to this Asian Bistro just across the street from Wild Oats in Capital Hill. These are the things that happened during the night that made me roll my eyes and/or laugh to myself.

1: My mom was wearing a hat with a diameter of about two feet, and I am NOT exaggerating.

2: The husband was wearing over-sized sunglasses, a fisherman’s hat, a tank top, and cotton shorts that are two sizes too small.

3: As we are walking down 11th ave. we passed a Zen sand garden and my mom asked me if it was a big litter box.

4: At the restaurant, I ordered some wontons as an appetizer. The husband thought the pickled ginger was to be eaten like a salad and became disgusted when he took a huge bite and the overwhelmingly pungent taste made his eyes water.

5: When we got back to my house, my neighbor, who is a tambourine player, was practicing his tambourine REALLY loudly. My mom gave me a look of disgust.
