Will you be my muse? Please?

Conversations constantly run through my head; it’s a continuous commentary consisting mostly of song lyrics I didn’t write. And some ideas of songs I’d like to write. There’s one about how I have a crush on the carnie at Cedar Point and our secret roller coaster love affair. I’d like to write a song about how there’s a song about pretty much everything. But I’m stuck, out of love, out of luck. Stuck in between being uptight and carelessly dealing with loneliness.

I do this thing where I listen to the same songs over and over. I don’t brag about having 40 gigs of music. Oh no. My computer proudly holds a humble 6 gigs. Nonetheless I know those 6 gis like the back of my hand.

Imagine the effect of listening to the same songs over and over. Subliminal.

Case in point.

A life changing combination (Spring of 2003):

1) Jimmy Eat World – Self Titled album formally known as Bleed American
2) The Used (also self titled)
3) Smashing Pumpkins – Melancholy and the Infinite Sadness (the blue disc only)

In the words of John Cusack, “What came first? The music or the misery? People worry about kids playing with guns and watching violent videos. We're scared that some sort of culture of violence is taking them over...But nobody worries about kids listening to thousands -- literally thousands -- of songs about broken hearts and rejection and pain and misery and loss. Did I listen to pop music because I was miserable, or was I miserable because I listened to pop music?”
